2x2.5 5 sq ft 4 plants possible ?

Hi all, I've always maximized when growing in this space one or two of the same plants in SCroG. While this maximizes yeald I want to try some verity grows.

4 3gal smart pots fit, should I go down in size ? Should I just stick to two max ?
